Doha Club

Can anyone confirm that Doha Club will cease to be? Word is it's going to be torn down and turned into a yacht club and the employees have received notice that they will be transferred to hotels in the Qatar National Hotels group.

Seriously though I heard that the Emirs wife had bought it and was taking over the running of the place and had great plans to improve it. Guess we'll have to wait and see eh ?

Yesterday's (Saturday) Gulf Times ...THE Doha Club is scheduled to be demolished by the end of the current year and turned into a world-class yacht club, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
“Notice has been given to Doha Club’s staff members saying that they would be employed by hotels belonging to the Qatar National Hotels Company,� Arrayah said.
