NEW DELHI: The charge for pre-selection of seats has now extended to international flights of full service Indian carriers as well. Jet Airways has started charging for advance reservation of seats in economy class on all international routes operated by Boeing 737 aircraft from early May. The airline, which operates the Boeing 737 to neighboring regions like Gulf and Nepal, will charge Rs 1,500 for front row seats; Rs 500 for row 10 seats and Rs 250 for window and aisle seats on rows 11 to 15. The pre-booking charge will not apply to middle seats of the single aisle B-737.

Indian woman on 12-year hunger strike charged

NEW DELHI (AP) — Irom Sharmila has not eaten a meal in 12 years. The 40-year-old woman has been on a hunger strike — and force fed through a tube by authorities — to protest an Indian law that suspends many human rights protections in areas of conflict.

Sharmila was charged Monday with attempted suicide in a case likely to bring major attention to her quiet protest in the tiny northeastern state of Manipur against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act.

A plane is on its way to Chandigarh, when Gurpreet in economy class gets up and moves to first class section and sits down. The flight attendant watches her do this and asks to see her ticket she then tells Gurpreet that she paid for economy class and that she will have to sit in the back.
Gurpreet replies, “I’m Sardarni, I’m beautiful, I’, going to Chandigarh and I’m staying right here.”
The flight attended goes into the cockpit and tells the pilot can the co-pilot that there is a sardarni sitting in first class, that belongs in economy and won’t move back to her seat.
The co-pilot back to Gurpreet and tries to explain the same and asks her to return back to her seat.
Gurpreet replies, “I’m Sardarni, I’m beautiful, I’, going to Chandigarh and I’m staying right here.”

Ajmal Kasab hanged at Yerwada Jail in Pune at 7:30am

NEW DELHI: In a secret operation, LeT terrorist and 26/11 attacks accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab was hanged in the high-security Yerwada Jail in Pune at 7:30am today after a four-year-long trial. Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said he was buried inside the Yerwada Jail at 9.30am.

Union home secretary R K Singh said: "Family members of Kasab informed about the hanging through a letter sent by courier." The lone surviving terrorist in the Mumbai attack of November 26, 2008 was shifted to the Yerwada Jail following the rejection of his mercy petition by the President earlier on November 5.
