Qatar Musicians

I was trained on the classical guitar but unfortunately it's been more than 2 decades since I last played. Got myself a cheap beginner Yamaha electric guitar and would very much like to know if there are classes for adults in town for me to join.

If possible, I'd also like to have vocal lessons together with the guitar class. Any good music schools out there?

I am a UK ex-pat recently relocated from UAE to Qatar. So far, I have struggled to find a decent 'Live Music Scene' in Doha, but I am sure there must be something out there!?! I have been playing drums for approx 30yrs and learned my trade on the UK pub / club circuit and In Europe, playing large corporate events or small sweaty boozers. I recently released an album with my band in Dubai and had National Radio airplay, but I am not egotistical. I simply love music and I love playing! I am looking to join an already established band preferably playing popular rock / pop classic covers rather than originals , or start one from scratch with likeminded musicians (bass / guitar / vocals / keys?)
If you are interested or know someone who is, then drop me a line and lets see where it goes???

I currently live in the UK, but lived in doha for a while, leaving in 2005.

I lost an Ibanez Jem 7d Steve Vai guitar when I lived in Doha. I lost it in 2004 after playing in battle of the bands in at the American School (ASD). The guitar is black (with a kind of weird paint effect), with a mirror scratchplate, and the famous monkey handle all Steve Vai's guitars have. My profile picture is of the guitar if anyone is interested.

Unbelievably, I left the guitar in the boot of a taxi, while on the way to a friends house from ASD. The taxi never came back, and I never saw my guitar again. Very annoying.

I'm attempting to post to the Qatar Musicians group. Is there a FAQ or billboard for bringing musicians together? I'm looking for Beatles fans in Doha who want to form a cover band for fun and recreation. I'm a middle-aged western guy and I play bass and can sing if necessary. Nowhere near professional, but who knows where it will lead. Looking for others who would be interested in playing Beatles songs on the weekends.
