I have started a group on QL named "Urdu Group - For Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi speakers"

Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi languages are not the same but similar, so are their speakers and users.

One might ask why there was a need for such a group. I set up this group, using languages as a vehicle to unite people form sub-continent mainly Indians and Pakistanis, build bridges, understand misunderstandings and create harmony among us. I believe It is very much possible through common languages.

People from sub-continent are attracted to each other as they share the same ethnic background. There are more similarities than differences between us. Let's play down the minor differences.

Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar's Graphic Design Department presents a lecture by renowned Iraqi calligrapher Wissam Shawkat entitled 'Calligraphy: Tradition to Contemporary Practice' on 15, September 2009 at 7:00PM at the atrium in VCUQatar. The Supreme Council for the Environment & Natural Reserves is announcing an open competition to all amateur and professional designers who are interested in the field of designing logos to design a logo for the council under the below-mentioned conditions. The logo should express the identity of the council that represents the identity of the Qatari environment in its different sectors (marine environment, land environment, and the air sector).

(The winning designer will receive QR20,000.)
