Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort

We stayed there during our summer holiday 2006. The only decent family hotel in the island. I am not the type of 'backpacker' traveller. My idea of holiday is staying in a nice hotel with beach, pool and off course spa.

Because the island is also consider as a national park, you can easily watching monitor lizzard roaming around the resort. It is a bit funny watching this nearly 1 meters size walking passing your chalet from your window.

You can see monkey too ... they will waited outside your chalet hoping you will throw some food to them

The resort provide activities for the family. You can book a jungle track with the local guide. I did the track, not my cup a tea but my son and my husband enjoyed it. Enroute the guide will pointing out the animals in the jungle.

They also have donkey ride for the kids ... my son love it. 5 days there ... 5 times donkey ride. It wasn't that expensive. About 30 ringgit (30 riyal) for 30 minutes ride.

They also hired out glass bottom boat. I can't remember how much, but it was also cost next to nothing.

Best of all ... i have the best massages in the hotel spa. 125 QR for aromatheraphy massage. And guess what ... the lady who did the massage for me is from Indonesia. My husband laughed at me ... all the way to Tioman Island I had a spa by an indonesian lady theraphist?

If you asked what best for my husband ... he had the cheapest beer in his life. QR 2 for a can of tiger beer. I don't know how it works, but somehow people don't pay tax on booze in the island unlike in the main island.
