Dear Fellow: Just want to raise this matter. Is there any among you experienced DISCRIMINATION in Qatar? Is the rate of discrimination here is HIGH? What kind of discrimination usually occured? is it Racial Discrimination? Religious Discrimination? Economic Status discrimination? Male-Female Discrimination? Others? Please shed light on this matter and bring some enlightenment. thank you

you will find discrimination ...you will find discrimination in all parts of the world in all forms pls name a country without it ,,,,and being a qatari you shud have better knowledge than expatriates

Im raising this questions because I known someone who falsely accused and illegally detained there for lack of reasonable proof and evidence. Now suffering from a very unfair legal proceedings. Have you heard about this STORY? 5 Pastors Deatined in Qatar. Maybe NOT, because I also heard that there are news blockout in qatar especialy in cases like this. They are just blogs where everyone can say anything and spread rumors. Anyone can create his own blog and write anything he/she wants to.
Besides, did you know that having unlicensed churches are illegal here in Qatar? Maybe these pastors opened couple of unlicensed churches and who knows what else they have done...
In addition, the government of Philippines would surely take care of this case and help the pastors, unless they also found them guilty

You know it better I guess ...then why don't you just go to the Ministry of Interior or the prison where they stay (if it is true story) and complain?
Or else collect money from kabayans and hire a lawyer for them (if they don't have one already)

I have no idea of what these ...I have no idea of what these people have done or whether they are guilty or not but lets say they were preaching here. Imagine 4 qataris in Manila preaching their faith and the govt arrested them and held them in detention for a long period of time. What do you think would be the reaction? Muslims in the gulf will say this is discrimination against Muslims again and the evil plot of America.

If preaching was illegal (against the law) in ...Manila, then they deserve to be detained and to enforce the filipino law on them. As simple as that.
And regarding What the Muslims in Gulf would say, I doubt on that they would say that it is a discrimination and the evil plot of America.. It is just your opinion and the way you understand and think of Muslims

Yes there is but it's ...Yes there is but it's situational and less in religious aspect. Racial discrimination is more rampant i guess because of professional competition. I know one, because I'm working with one racist in our company. He's a bully and wants to intimidate everyone. Even to a muslim-born like me. And he hates people smiling :-)
