Dubai road trip expe......... ...Guys it was awosome...a different experience, I just call my friend who is living in dubai for VISA and he sponsored. Few updates which are not available on net.
Saudi and UAE road is on under costruction so some place you have to crawl on road.
UAE maximum speed is 140 and it is flashing on 142 so take care.
Parking is a headache in Dubai, you can choose 10 dhs/hour paid parking or govt. parking 2 dhs/hour by inserting coins in meters.
100 dhs SALIK is giving only 50 dhs balance rest 50 dhs are service charge and provide your correct mobile no. so if you are out of balance, you can get the SMS or you can check n top up ur balance online.
/-a-t-/ Saudi border finger prints required for adults n separate cabin for ladies.
anybody can send mail to me if you need any detailed information on vi_shi2001/-a-t-/yahoo.com.

UAE visit by road ...Approximate distance: 700KM from Doha to Dubai.
Doha – Boarder = 100KM
Doha Boarder – UAE border -110KM
UAE border – Abu Dhabi – 375KM
Abu Dhabi – Dubai 135KM
Saudi Transit Visa QR 150(per passport, earlier it was 125/135), Contact: 44449519, 55256870
* Saudi Car Insurance QR 70.00 (for 7 days day, per vehicle, 100 for two week)
* UAE Visa Upon Arrival QR 105.00 (per passport)
* UAE Exit Revenue QR 35.00 (per passport)
* UAE Car Insurance QR 100 for ten days, 150.00 (for one month, per vehicle)
* Salik prepaid Card/Sticker for Electronic Toll Gates QR 100.00 (QR 50 load & QR 50 process charges from any UAE gasoline stations), not mandatory, but advisable if you visit Dubai, otherwise you should be familier with roads well to avoid this toll.
Fuel about 250-300 (for visiting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujerah, Alain) for Corolla 1.8. Petrol Suaid is cheap and UAE is costly.
Parking iis difficult in Dubai, AED:2/- per hour for govt parking, AED:5-10/ per hour for private parking. Railway station/Malls are one good option for free parking up to certain time.
I've travelled along with my wife, 3 kids in Oct 2012,. It's much cheaper travelling with your family. But going alone, it's cheaper by air.
