employment contract

I need advise on what action to take regarding my contract, the company I work for still won't give me my contract. We recently finished our project and I am expecting to be sent home (demobilize) due to contract ended. But the company did not sent me home and told me to stay here in qatar and they are arranging for new project and they need people. They did not cancel my residence permit, they did not give me demobilization notice, and they did not arrange for my return to my country. I agreed expecting that they will renew my contract with the same benefits since they are not saying anything about changing my salary. after 10 days of waiting they told me to report for work for the new project. After more than 1 month working, they gave me a contract to sign but my benefits and salary is cut almost 50%, I did not agree to this and did not sign it. I demanded for the same salary I am recieving with the previous contract, since that is what I expected. They promise they will look into it and arrange new contract. Now after 5 months still they are not arranging the contract. I have follow it up many times but I got no feedback. I continue working even though they are giving me less salary, I am expecting my contract to be arrange, to give good impression of the company to the client. Can someone please give me advice as to what I can do. Is working without a contract will endanger me? Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks!

5 months? 5 MONTHS? you ...5 months? 5 MONTHS? you waited 5 months with 50% of original salary? Are u crazy? Why did u accept the new contract?
No offence to you or your kabayans, but you people need to be a bit more aggressive when it comes to these things. I see it in the company i work. Same things...
But nooo.... you just bend over to whatever the employers is giving you. You need to stop taking s*** from others and be more aggressive... otherwise they will keep on taking advantage of you. BTW they will not increase anything since you already accepted the terms of the contract.
Going to the Labour Commission is useless since your contract is already signed (that means you agreed to the terms of the contract + salary and benefits). What you need to do now is just finish the contract and after that ask them to send you home. If they tell you again to stay and wait, then you go to LC and make a complaint. END OF STORY.

Runner, re-read the post he ...Runner, re-read the post he did NOT sign the contract. However, he may have issues because he's been working without one.
OP - get to the MOL and file a complaint NOW.

thanks for the comment... If ...thanks for the comment...
If I go to labour courts it will require money, that would be a problem and the company knows that that's why they know I will not go to that. Do you know anyone that could give counseling regarding my problem. Someone that can analyze my situation and can give legal advise before going to the court? I need to be ready in case worst comes to worst. Me and my family will suffer....
Thanks!

thanks! If I went for MOL, ...thanks!
If I went for MOL, the company would know and I will be in trouble? Maybe not only me but the other employee since if the client knows about this they can terminate the contract with our company and the whole team could lose jobs. And they have me to blame....

you are not to blame! you are ...you are not to blame! you are acting in your own interest...
I am pretty sure that if the company finds out about what you are doing, they will try to make your life a living hell just to give you up as an example to the other employees. Just make sure to tell the labor court about that.

And if you go to the MOL and ...And if you go to the MOL and they find in your favour will your colleagues then follow your example and proclaim you a hero? Sure they will, because they'll follow your example. However, they are afraid, like you are now, to act for various reasons of their own. I can almost certainly guarantee none of those reasons concern what their actions might impact on you.
You cannot not act because others are afraid to if your actions may give you a good outcome and if you can afford to leave Qatar now. If you are prepared to live with the consequences, good or bad, you can act.
If you can't imagine living with the poorer alternative, why are you asking us what you should do?
