National Health Campaign by HMC
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), in partnership with ConocoPhillips Qatar, has unveiled a five-year national campaign called “Kulluna” to raise levels of public awareness on general health issues, personal safety, HMC services, and life-saving practices within the country.
‘Kulluna’, the Arabic term for ‘All of us’, will commence in October 2012 and will continue up to 2016. The program will be implemented by the Hamad International Training Centre (HITC), an HMC extension unit, and will be sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar.
“It is our collective goal to eliminate all injuries, occupational illnesses, unsafe practices and any environmental harm on account of our activities. The partnership with HMC will help extend the firm’s corporate commitment to these values to our community in Qatar,” explains Mr. Gary Sykes, President of ConocoPhillips Qatar. “Health and safety were two core commitments of ConocoPhillips.”
Dr. Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, Director of HITC, told The Peninsula that the program will target the general public, community organizations, primary schools, secondary schools, universities, clubs, and public sector units.
During a press conference to launch the initiative, HMC Business Services Chief Mr. Ali Al-Janahi said, “We certainly believe that the health and safety of every individual living in Qatar is a joint responsibility that should bring us all together as individuals and communities.”
